Educators blog for any reasons; however, I have noticed that many of them blog to give information to other teachers.  The use of blogs helps them share their taughts with other people within their field and helps them exchange ideas.  Also, they use blogs to give their students information and the ability to take their education to the next level.

Blogs and websites can important in when I become a teacher because it will help me stay in touch with students and give them just another place to learn more about the topics that we covered in class.  It will also give the students to place to go to find information that will help them study, ie. virtual flashcards.  Also, a blog can help me share ideas with other teachers and gain valuable information and tips in teaching a class.  Most teachers that blog believe that technology is a very important aspect of teaching, and they are willing to help and give out information that has to deal with using technology in the classroom.  That is why a blog will be important when I become a teacher.

Below are three educators in my future field that use blogs and websites.  These are individuals that have helped me understand the importance of using technology in the education field.

Brad Fuhrer is a middle school teacher in Tiffin, Ohio for Tiffin City Schools. His website, not just a blog, has a lot of information on it to help students and parents know what is going on in his classroom. The purpose of his website is to keep his students and their parents informed about the latest happenings in his class and at the Tiffin Middle School. He uses blogging to keep people informed. As he states, “many years of teaching have taught me that one of the keys to a successful school year is communication.” His site also gives countless information about the use of smartboards in class. Interaction has always been his way of teaching, and he shows how to do this through his website.

Much like Mr. Fuhrer and Mrs. Gorlin, Mr. Guditus uses blogs to help and educate other educators.  He shows what is currently going on within his own school but also shows articles that can help others teach.  He uses his blog as a place where you can go and find information about teaching, and his own personal experiences.
